Lynette found a way to deal with her inability to wake up early on
Christmas morning: she'd have her brother bring her gifts to her,
then let the dog do all the paper removal. By the time she was awake
all she had to do was pick up the paper – and pieces of shredded gifts.
My problem was never the inability to wake up, it was the inability to get my
parents up. We had this rule that we couldn't start opening until everyone
was assembled in the livingroom, and inevitably they'd find ways to stall.
Seems like the kids were awake at 7am and our parents sat down at 8:30am...
